It seems to be the one morning on my calendar each week that has just a little more time in it for me to enjoy doing some of the things I love to do. Write, paint, garden, walk, bake or simply take time to reflect upon and journal our life.
The kids are growing up so quickly. Another school year is almost done.
They are so anxious to get camping and I can't wait to spend another wonderful summer together! We have a few things planned but mostly are looking forward to leaving our days wide open and welcoming for life's adventures to find us!
Before we move out to the shore, there are a few projects that I have been desperately trying to finish up. Several weeks ago, I decided that our upstairs living area needed some major TLC. It just wasn't cozy or inviting. Thanks to a very talented friend, it has been transformed. It is a welcoming space now where the kids want to spend time and hang out. My heart couldn't be happier!
To go along with our new decor, I have repainted a few pieces of furniture. Here are the before and afters.
Who knew what a little of Benjamin Moore Cloud White Paint and new hardware could do!
This afternoon's project is to paint this ugly brown hutch a colour called Yellow Raincoat. Yes, I am nervous! But I am also really excited to be creating a more welcoming home.
Thank goodness for Thursday mornings!
Here is a picture of our new living room area now. Of course I wasn't smart enough to take a before picture when we started this project- just imagine blah. Oh and I also included a picture of bookshelf which my daughter uses as her playtable. So cute and one day I am going to miss this!
